Today, KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Gust are happy to announce that FAIRY TAIL 2, their new action RPG based on the popular franchise FAIRY TAIL, will be released on 13th December, 2024*. In celebration, a new action-packed trailer was unveiled, giving fans a glimpse of the epic action that awaits them. A direct sequel to KOEI TECMO’s 2020 game, FAIRY TAIL 2 is currently in development for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™ and Windows PC via Steam®.
* The Steam version will be released on 12th December, 2024.
The newly unveiled trailer gives players a first look at the heroic and speedy magic battles Natsu and the team must unleash in order to defeat their greatest enemy, Zeref, the Emperor Spriggan of the Alvarez Empire. The battles have been completely revamped to reflect the exciting action during combat, and fans will be given the opportunity to use the full scope of the FAIRY TAIL guild members’ skills to triumph over their opponents. Players will need to take advantage of the synergy between different characters to unleash devastating attacks if they are to defeat Zeref and his elite unit of mages known as the Spriggan 12.
In addition to the standard edition, fans can now pre-order two special editions: the “FAIRY TAIL 2 GUILD BOX” edition, which includes the base game, the visual artbook “Sorcerer Magazine Special Issue: Game Release Edition Vol.2” inspired by the “Sorcerer Magazine” as seen in the original work, a Special Shikishi with Holographic Finish (3 types in total), and more. Fans can also pre-order the “FAIRY TAIL 2 COMBO SET” edition which contains, on top of the items included in the GUILD BOX, a Special Illustrated Canvas Art, with printed autograph of series creator Hiro Mashima.

Additionally, fans will be able to digitally pre-order at a later date the “FAIRY TAIL 2Digital Deluxe Edition” which will include additional in-game content such as costumes, characters, scenarios, various DLC to enhance the game experience, and more at a later date. Everyone who either physically or digitally purchases FAIRY TAIL 2 before 6th January 2025 will receive the “Miss FAIRY TAIL Contest” costume for Lucy as an early purchase bonus.
FAIRY TAIL 2 is set to be released on 13th December, 2024 on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™ and 12th December, 2024 on Windows PC via Steam®. FAIRY TAIL 2 will include Japanese voices with English and French texts.
